Greg Hughes was named Serena’s chief executive officer in January 2013. Prior to that, Hughes joined Serena’s board of directors in February 2012 while serving as an operating partner at Silver Lake Partners, which he joined in March 2011. Prior to Silver Lake, Hughes served in a variety of senior management roles at Symantec Corporation including Group President, Enterprise Products. Hughes joined Symantec through its acquisition of VERITAS Software, where he was Executive Vice President, Global Services. He joined VERITAS after a 10-year career at McKinsey & Company, where he founded and led the software practice. He currently serves on the board of LogMeIn and holds an MBA from Stanford and a BS and MS in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
Bob Pender is responsible for managing Serena’s worldwide sales and finance organizations. Mr. Pender was SVP, Finance and CFO of Serena Software from 1997 to 2011 before rejoining the Company in June 2013. He has more than 23 years of management experience in corporate finance and administration in the software industry.
Prior to joining Serena Software, Mr. Pender served as VP of finance at Mosaix, Inc., an enterprise customer management and call center company, which was sold to Lucent. Mosaix was the result of a 1996 merger involving ViewStar Corporation, where Mr. Pender was chief financial officer. Before ViewStar Corp., he served as the controller for Versant Object Technology and began his career with Arthur Andersen & Company.
Ed Malysz is responsible for Serena’s worldwide legal, facilities and information technology organizations.
Prior to Serena, Mr. Malysz served as VP, Legal of Symantec Corporation, a leading security and storage software company. Mr. Malysz has also held senior management and legal positions at a number of technology companies, including VERITAS Software, E-Stamp Corporation and Silicon Graphics, Inc. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Malysz was a certified public accountant with Arthur Young & Company.
Mr. Malysz holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and J.D. from Santa Clara University.
Ali Kheirolomoom leads all product development and product strategy at Serena.
Prior to Serena, Mr. Kheirolomoom was co-founder, CTO and Vice President of Software Development for Apptero, the creator of an innovative business application planning, visualization and prototyping tool. Prior to Apptero, he was co-founder, CTO and VP of Development for Avinon, where he oversaw the development of Avinon's highly regarded NetScenario software for Web services application assembly. Before Avinon, he was Vice President of Product Management at Mosaix. There he defined the company's product strategy and was the driving force behind the development of their leading-edge process automation product, which subsequently became the foundation for the CRM initiative at Lucent Technologies (now Avaya, Inc.). Mr. Kheirolomoom was the recipient of ComputerWorld Premier 100 IT Leaders and Premier 20 Innovators awards.
Mr. Kheirolomoom holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of California in Santa Cruz.
Carl Landers is responsible for Serena’s worldwide marketing functions, including product marketing, communications, lead generation, sales enablement and field marketing. Mr. Landers previously served as Serena’s Vice President of Product and Campaign Marketing and joined the company with over a decade of enterprise software marketing experience.
Prior to joining Serena, Mr. Landers served as Vice President of Marketing at CA Technologies, where he led marketing strategy, product marketing, demand generation and public relations for CA’s Project and Portfolio Management solution. He joined CA via its 2005 acquisition of Niku Corporation, where he was Director of Product Marketing. Before joining Niku, Mr. Landers held product marketing, product management and product development positions at Perfect Commerce, Zoho Corporation, Tyco International and Raychem Corporation.
Mr. Landers holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
Mr. Sianchuk is responsible for Serena's global customer support and professional services organizations. He provides a single vision across all aspects of Customer Interaction, ensuring that Serena offers the highest level of Customer Service from every department and that Serena maintains an unsurpassed level of Customer consideration in decisions made.
Mr. Sianchuk began his career as a mainframe developer and systems analyst. He holds an honors degree in computer engineering from the University of Teesside, Teesside, UK.
Alison Edge is responsible for Serena's global HR function. With over twenty five years experience in Human Resources management, most with technology companies, she brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Strategically, Ms. Edge is responsible for creating an environment that nurtures Serena's most valuable asset, our people. Operationally, with her team, she manages the key Talent Management processes – resourcing, performance and career management, learning and compensation. Administratively, she supports her team in fulfilling the day-to-day processes that are essential in maintaining a high quality employee experience.
Prior to joining Serena, Ms. Edge held senior HR positions with T Mobile, Red-M and its precursor Madge Networks, Crosfield Electronics and Schlumberger.
Ms. Edge holds a Business Management degree from the University of Hertfordshire.
Eric Driffort is responsible for Serena's sales and service operations in the EMEA region.
Mr. Driffort began his career as an engineer at IBM, before becoming Sales and Marketing Director for Information Builders in 1991. In 1997 he was appointed MD of Intersolv, which became Merant in 2000. Serena Software subsequently acquired Merant. In 2004 he accepted the position of MD for the French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Benelux and African regions for Serena. In 2008, he successfully ran operations in India and in 2009, the UK and Ireland were added to his portfolio. Mr. Driffort was appointed Vice President for EMEA in 2010, where he has been successfully driving growth.
Mr. Driffort holds a BSc in IT and a Masters in International Commerce from the University of Paris-Dauphine.
