Stephen Evans joined Silver Lake in 2008 and is a Director. Prior to joining Silver Lake, Mr. Evans was a Principal at Cognetas, a European mid-market private equity firm. At Cognetas, Mr. Evans focused on transactions across a variety of service sectors. Previously, Mr. Evans spent five years at Bain & Company. In his time at Bain & Company, Mr. Evans advised clients in Europe and the US across a variety of industries and also spent two years in Bain's Private Equity group. Mr. Evans holds an M.A and an M.Phil from Cambridge University, and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
Karen M. King is a Managing Director of Silver Lake, the global leader in technology investing, with over $23 billion in combined assets under management and committed capital. Ms. King joined Silver Lake in 2004 and is integrally involved in all aspects of the firm's business. Previously, Ms. King worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, where she focused on capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings and high yield debt financings, and mergers and acquisitions, including private equity transactions. Ms. King holds an A.B. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. She also serves on the boards of several non-profit institutions.
Douglas D. Troxel is the founder of Serena Software and has served on Serena's Board of Directors since April 1980. From June 1980 to April 1997, Mr. Troxel served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Serena. Mr. Troxel holds a B.S. in mathematics from Iowa State University.
L. Dale Crandall most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. Mr. Crandall joined Kaiser in 1998 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Kaiser, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of APL Limited and had 32 years of experience with Price Waterhouse. At Price Waterhouse, Mr. Crandall served as the Southern California Managing Partner and oversaw services provided to numerous clients, including Bank of California, Hewlett Packard, Chevron, and Disney. Mr. Crandall currently serves on the boards of Ansell Ltd., Coventry Health Care, UnionBanCal Corp., Dodge & Cox Mutual Funds, and Bridgepoint Education, Inc.
Greg Hughes was named Serena’s chief executive officer in January 2013. Prior to that, Hughes joined Serena’s board of directors in February 2012 while serving as an operating partner at Silver Lake Partners, which he joined in March 2011. Prior to Silver Lake, Hughes served in a variety of senior management roles at Symantec Corporation including Group President, Enterprise Products. Hughes joined Symantec through its acquisition of VERITAS Software, where he was Executive Vice President, Global Services. He joined VERITAS after a 10-year career at McKinsey & Company, where he founded and led the software practice. He currently serves on the board of LogMeIn and holds an MBA from Stanford and a BS and MS in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
