Executives, Agencies and Industry Experts to Share Insights and Best Practices Around Enabling Transparency, Efficiency and Accountability Across Government at 2010 Serena Software Federal User Group Meeting

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Mar 23, 2010 - Serena Software, a leading developer of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and business process management (BPM) solutions, today announced the details of its 2010 Federal User Group Meeting, “Got Lean?: Transparencies and Efficiencies for Lean Government,”taking place on Thursday, March 25 in Washington, D.C.

The event will feature keynotes from Forrester Analyst Clay Richardson and Serena's executive leadership team, including Serena CEO John Nugent, as well as presentations from federal customers who are currently using Serena to drive their agencies’ ALM and business processes to be more efficient.

“Serena is enjoying strong demand for solutions that allow agencies to address transparency and efficiency issues, while our customers are enjoying great success with their Serena software.  Thus, we’re excited to bring together people from these agencies to discuss how they can further improve their performance reporting, boost productivity, better serve constituents and lower the cost of government,” said Dave Dantus, director of Serena Software Federal. “Serena is committed to helping federal agencies achieve transparency and efficiency goals, and we look forward to facilitating customer interaction around key topics like mainframe and distributed release management, requirements management, change management and agile development.”

There are more than 250 federal organizations actively using Serena Software’s products, and it is estimated that over 75,000 federal employees and contractors use Serena each day. Serena’s growing presence in the federal market is illustrated by the fact that government attendance at the 2010 Serena Software Federal User Group event is up 25% over the 2009 event, and includes representatives from more than 125 agencies and contractors, including the U.S. Department of Labor, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of State, General Services Administration and the Department of Justice.

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience live Serena product demonstrations, participate in free Serena BPM training, network with peers and colleagues from across the nation, and exchange best practices, particularly around lean BPM and every important ALM process, including agile development, change management, release management, demand management and requirements management.

“Traditional business process management can be a budget buster. Now is the time to adopt an agile and lean mindset that emphasizes the value BPM can deliver for your organization,” said Clay Richardson, senior analyst for Forrester Research.

The 2010 Serena Software Federal User Group Conference will take place from 7:30 a.m. EST to 5:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.
